9/3/2024, Tuesday - Biked the Rouge Valley Trail in Markham, Ontario

This trail in the Unionville area of Markham was recommended to us by our friend Jesse. It didn't disappoint. Markham was a rich area and it showed with the trail system. They had a million bridges and put a lot of work into this trail system.

There were 2 girls that were taking the sunflowers down. Later we saw they had changed it to fall leaves....We didnt get a pic of that though

The bike path was usually paved, but had some really nice chipped stone surface in places.

We thought this Heron would catch a fish, but it failed while we watched.

This looks like an expensive bridge to put on a bike trail.

While we were at this stop we had a very memorable talk with a young Chinese Student.

A lot of the trail was wooden walkways and bridges

This shows you how nice the day was

Under this big road it felt like you were in a big building. It was fun to check out.

See what I mean about the wooden path? We rarely bike on stuff like this.

This is the Markum dam

More bridges

You can see the leaves just starting to turn.

The bridges were mostly all made of metal that they left unpainted and it had a rust coating on it.

We paused to enjoy the sunset

Sunset pictures never seem to turn out the way your eyes saw it, but we tried

We road till after dark and then went to an Indian restaurant that was near our car
